Within the “New” or “Emerging” Adult Category, it can be broken up into 2 separate and distinct phases: Young Adult (Ages 18 - 22), and those who fall within Later Adulthood (Ages 22+). In regards to the area of Later Adulthood development (those in that stage just prior to Middle Age Adulthood) are looking towards making advances in their career (through a career change or promotion), and focusing on personal goals (family planning, identifying hobbies and interests).
